Babysense 7: How It Works and How to Install It

At Babysense, we know how important your baby’s safety is — and how much peace of mind matters. That’s why we created the Babysense 7. This smart, non-contact monitor tracks your baby’s micro-movements while they sleep, helping you feel confident and reassured. Easy to use and gentle for your baby, it’s a trusted solution for parents who want extra support through every nap and night.

Babysense 7 – Principle of Operation

Babysense 7 detects your baby’s micro-movements using highly sensitive, non-contact sensor pads placed beneath the mattress.

The monitor will sound an audible and visual alarm if:

  • No movement is detected for 20 seconds, or

  • Fewer than 10 micro-movements per minute are registered.

This monitoring is completely touch-free, ensuring your baby’s comfort and safety.

How Many Sensor Pads Should Be Used?

For a baby who is not yet crawling, use one sensor pad, placed under the baby's typical sleeping position in the crib.

Once your baby starts to crawl, and can move around in the crib, attach the second sensor pad. This ensures full mattress coverage for continued safety monitoring.

Important: Make sure the sensors are placed with the label "THIS SIDE UP" facing upward.

Babysense 7 – Battery Type & Size

The Babysense 7 control unit uses 4 new identical AA 1.5V alkaline batteries.

  • Always use fresh, matching batteries of the same type and brand.

  • Do not mix old and new batteries or different brands.

Tip: Include videos showing examples of full and low batteries to help users identify when it’s time for replacement.

Will the Babysense 7 Work with My Crib or Mattress Type?

Yes — Babysense 7 works with most standard baby mattresses and cribs.

However:

  •  It is not compatible with memory foam mattresses.

  •  If your crib has a spring or soft base, place a plywood board beneath each sensor pad for firm support.

Ensure the mattress makes solid contact with the sensors for accurate monitoring.

Contact our support if you need guidance with this.

How to Install My Babysense 7 or 8?

Here’s how to properly install your device:

  1. Insert Batteries
Open the battery cover and insert 4 AA 1.5V alkaline batteries. Ensure they are installed correctly based on the markings inside.

  2. Place the Sensor Pads on the base of the crib.

    • Use of one pad - 0-3 months of age or if your baby has not begun rolling.

    • Use of two pads - from 3 months of age or if your baby has begun rolling prior to 3 months.

    • Place thin plywood boards beneath the pads if your crib has a spring base or is not flat.

  3. Mount the Control Unit
Use the included holder clips to attach the unit to the crib frame.

  4. Secure the Sensor Cables

    • Route the cables through the dedicated openings.

    • Connect them to the SENSOR port/s.

    • Do not use the blocked “DO NOT USE” port.

    • Hide and secure excess cord under the mattress using the cable ties provided.

Always keep cords out of you baby's reach as a safety precaution.
