Your Babysense Pro Parent Unit is powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery, allowing you to monitor your baby both while plugged in and when moving around your home. Understanding how the battery works will help you get the best performance from your monitor.
Note: Avoid using Non Babysense Power Adapters and USB outlets for charging.
Charging the Parent Unit
To charge your Parent Unit:
- Connect the supplied power adapter to the charging port on the left side of the Parent Unit.
- Plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
- The Charging LED will illuminate red, indicating that the battery is charging.
- When the battery is fully charged:
- The Charging LED changes to green.
- The battery icon on the screen will display four solid bars.
Tip: The Parent Unit can be used normally while it is charging.
First-Time Charging
Before using your MaxView Pro for the first time, or after it has been stored for an extended period, we recommend fully charging the Parent Unit.
- Approximate charging time: 8 hours.
Battery Life
Depending on how you use your monitor, battery life will vary.
| Operating Mode | Approximate Battery Life |
|---|---|
| VOX Mode Enabled | Up to 20 hours |
| Continuous Video Monitoring | Up to 12 hours |
Actual battery life may vary depending on screen brightness, volume level, and the features being used.
Low Battery Reminder
When the battery begins to run low:
- The battery icon turns red on the Parent Unit display.
- An audible reminder (beep) will sound to notify you that the battery should be recharged.
Can I change the reminder volume?
Yes. The volume of the low battery reminder can be adjusted in the Parent Unit's Alert Volume settings.
This setting also controls the audible alerts for:
- Low battery
- High or low room temperature
- Out-of-range (connection lost)
Note: If Alert Volume is set to Off, the Parent Unit will continue to display visual warnings, but you will not hear audible alert tones.
Best Practices for Battery Performance
To help maximize battery life and keep your Parent Unit ready for use:
- Keep the Parent Unit plugged in whenever possible to maintain the battery charge.
- Always use the original Babysense power adapter supplied with your monitor.
- Avoid exposing the Parent Unit to excessive heat or direct sunlight.
- Fully recharge the Parent Unit if it has not been used for an extended period before using it again.
Helpful Reminders
Babysense has created the first of its kind, Suspected battery issue Warning.
If this message appears, reset your unit and check if the message appears again. Often a reset resets any issues that may have been picked up. If a Battery Warning Message appears again, please turn off the unit and contact support to find the best solution.
The Babysense Pro has also been designed with a reminder message that will appear each time you charge, making sure you never forget to use the correct Babysense provided power adapter.
